Amitav Ghosh Emerges Champion at 1st West Bengal State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament 2026–27

Kolkata, July 26: The 1st West Bengal State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament 2026–27, organized by the Bengal Tenpin Bowling Association (BTBA) and approved by the Tenpin Bowling Federation (India), concluded successfully at Amoeba, Mani Square, Kolkata, after four days of high-quality bowling action from 23rd to 26th July 2026.

The championship attracted 32 of West Bengal's finest tenpin bowlers, who competed across multiple rounds in pursuit of the coveted State Ranking title. The tournament witnessed exceptional performances throughout, with the competition reaching its peak during the final stages.

Round Robin Decides the Finalists

The third round was conducted in a Round Robin format, where the Top 6 qualifiers from Round 2 competed against one another in single-game matches. Each victory earned 2 points, making every frame crucial.

After a fiercely contested Round Robin stage, Amitav Ghosh, Aman Murarka, and Sarfaraz Alam Khichi finished tied with 8 points each. As per the tournament regulations, the tie was resolved based on the highest cumulative pinfall. Amitav Ghosh and Aman Murarka recorded the highest total pinfall and advanced to the championship final.

Grand Finale – A Battle Worthy of Champions

The title was decided in a Best-of-Three Games final between Amitav Ghosh and Aman Murarka, delivering a thrilling finish to an outstanding tournament.

In Game 1, Aman Murarka started strongly and held the advantage for most of the match. However, Amitav Ghosh produced an impressive comeback in the closing frames to register a hard-fought 1GG–188 victory.

Game 2 proved to be even more dramatic. Aman displayed remarkable determination and composure under pressure, snatching a tie from the brink of defeat by levelling the contest at 164–164 in the final frame, keeping his title hopes alive and forcing the championship into a decisive third game.

With everything at stake in Game 3, Aman needed an outright victory, while Amitav required only a win or a draw to secure the title. Rising to the occasion, Amitav delivered a near-flawless performance, defeating Aman 225–183 to seal the championship and become the 1st West Bengal State Ranking Champion for the 2026–27 season.
